Meet the Trainer

I grew up in the Midwest, surrounded by various animals since I was five. My interest in dog behavior started when I was 10. After graduating from college with a BA in Communications, I became a registered handler for Therapy Dogs Inc. and a member of the APDT. I have a background in obedience competition, with titles earned by my dogs, such as ACK-CGC, UKC-UCD, and others. I also worked as an assistant instructor at a well-known dog training facility in Woodinville for two years, in 1993 and 1994. For five years, I worked as a nutrition consultant for Nature's Variety Pet Foods and attended numerous seminars on nutrition and dog training to keep my clients informed about the best choices for their pets.

I recall the time when my family and I went to the animal shelter to adopt our first family dog named "Nellie". She was 1 year old when we took her home and she lived with us for 19 years until her last day. She was a true and loyal friend. I have always had pets, both cats and dogs, in my life, and I cannot imagine a life without them. They have taught me many valuable lessons, and they continue to do so.

I have been actively training dogs and their owners in the Seattle region for 25 years now, and I have made lifelong friends along the way. I learn new things from the people and dogs I meet in each new family I train with, and I pass along my knowledge to them.
